As you know, the world ground to a halt a couple months ago, and with it went the original wedding plans for thousands of couples. Dan + Dena reached out to me in May. They had originally planned for a wedding in Massachusetts that was no longer in the cards, but still wanted to get married on their original date — but now the plan was to broadcast their ceremony from Philly with the help of Wedfuly and Zoom.
Despite the obstacles, these two had a truly beautiful ceremony, complete with remote flower girls and custom masks for their handful of guests — in their wedding colors of course. After the intimate and emotional ceremony, we took to the streets for a hora and a short dance party, and then they were even able to share toasts with their nearest and dearest on a video call. I love the way Dan + Dena were able to re-imagine their wedding day and still keep all the most important parts intact!
Dena, Mazel Tov! I’m remembering how we met your parents on our first day in Charlottesville in 1996. You were at camp and your parents were dancing through the Whole Foods. Then I met a very smiley Dena shortly afterward. We shared a few dinners and holidays and I loved your energy.
I enjoyed seeing you and Dan in your beautiful wedding photos and I love how you put forward motion and love first and got married in the midst of a pandemic. Mazel Tov! I wish you so much happiness and joy. Sara RK
