Well it didn’t take for us long to kick off 2018 in fine fashion at the Ballroom at the Ben. Colleen + Steve met at Penn State, but did not start dating until about 5 years later, just after Colleen had graduated college. They became good friends through those summers down the shore when Colleen was a cocktail waitress at the Dead Dog Saloon in Sea Isle City and Steve was her most frequent customer and best tipper! I also hear he was quite a dancer.
These two planned a perfectly-Philadelphia wedding, and lucked out with an unseasonably mild January day. Colleen and her many, MANY bridesmaids got ready at her childhood home — a home with more mirrors and light than I have ever seen. I was one happy photographer! After a beautiful mass at St. John the Evangelist, we hit City Hall as the sun set, and even crammed a bride, a groom, and a 22-person wedding party on the median at Broad Street.
At the Ballroom, Finley Catering was ready for us with an impeccable venue and a cocktail hour spread fit for royalty. The only thing left was to dance the night away, and Steve was able to show off some of those famous Dead Dog Saloon dance moves, and even serenaded his new wife, to even his surprise, I think.
Congratulations to Colleen and Steve, who make this whole love thing look so easy!
