Adrian + Max planned an amazing day at The Booking House in Manheim this November. Max and I go all the way back to our college days, taking photo classes with Dr. Trayes and working late at the Temple News. When he reached out to ask if I would photograph his wedding, I was immediately on board. Knowing his eye for aesthetics and attention to detail, I couldn’t wait to see their day unfold. While I’m always striving to do my best for my clients, there’s always a little more pressure when I’m working for friends and family–especially a friend who knows his way around a camera, and learned it all from Dr. Trayes.
These two have adventured all over before settling down in Florida with their beloved dog, King. You can tell by the way they look at each other that they were truly meant to be — they’re both creative and spirited, full of life and love. They just exude the kind of joy and simplicity that I love in a wedding. Their day was a perfect balance of touching and raucous fun. They exchanged gifts wrapped in Adrian’s grandmother’s sheet music, but also knew how to get the party started once the formalities were finished. From a cutout of their dog to confetti poppers at the ceremony, these two had nothing but fun and love in mind. They also put together one of the best reception playlists I think I’ve ever heard!
And a word about The Booking House, this very cool venue was new to me and I can’t wait to get back there. The Booking House used to be the old General Cigar Co. Warehouse. It was built back in 1884 and produced cigars for more than 50 years. Through the years, the building changed hands and uses before finally becoming this gorgeous rustic-modern space. I loved the exposed bricks and beams, and the great access to some excellent portrait locations. Plus any venue with a balcony is A+ in my book.
