An Ode to 2014

the future is bright

I know you’re probably sick of hearing me say it, but too bad: 2014 was an incredible year. After the terrible winter subsided, we were treated to the most wonderful summer I can ever remember. And on top of all of it, I keep meeting and falling in love with the best clients I could ask for. My couples this year were fun and easy, they were generous and beautiful, and surrounded by the overwhelming warmth of their friends and families. And above all they were genuine and loving and invited me in to witness and celebrate their life’s biggest moments. It thrills me that by the time a couple’s wedding rolls around, they feel more like friends than clients. In 2014 I got to shoot in fabulous new (to me!) venues and celebrate true, deep, mad love with some of my best couples ever. I got to photograph and welcome new babies to the world, and have gotten birth announcements for many more. And of course I’ve already met and worked with many of my 2015 clients who I look forward to celebrating with in the same fabulous way in the coming year.

Here’s to the close of a year that will hold a special place in my heart, and to the opening of a year that holds so many awesome possibilities.

I’ll leave you with a round-up of some 2014 wedding portraits — I can’t call them my favorites because there are just too many to choose, so I won’t — thanks for looking today and always!

I opened up the year in the best way imaginable, with Zak + Kathleen on the beach in Saint Petersburg, FL:
